The holidays can be filled with opportunities for togetherness, sharing, laughter and memories. But they can also be stressful and upsetting. It is not uncommon to feel sadness, a sense of loss or feelings of being overwhelmed by the holidays. This is true for those living with dementia and their care partners as well. It can be difficult to celebrate the holidays and maintain traditions while experiencing memory loss or providing care. The disruption to every day routines can be unsettling and stressful for all involved.
