AARP Looks at Walking Habits of Adults Age 50 and Older

Whether it is walking a pet, brisk walking for exercise, or hiking, 87% of adults aged 50 and older go for a walk in a typical week, according to a survey report supported by AARP. Nearly eight in 10 (78%) walk for 10-minutes or more when they walk and nearly half (47%) walk for at least 30 minutes

Most respondents agree walking is beneficial for improving physical health (91%), fitness (83%), mental health (75%), and brain health (59%).
