Age & Dementia Friendly Cape Ann and SeniorCare Dementia Friends Champions were recently featured as in a Dementia Friends Spotlight by Dementia Friends Massachusetts for work done during the pandemic.
They noted:
“A team of seven Champions at SeniorCare in Gloucester and Age & Dementia Friendly Cape Ann have undertaken an effort to make sure that all Congregate Meal Site coordinators, Home Delivered Meal drivers, Medical Transportation drivers, and RSVP volunteers have the opportunity to become Dementia Friends. They plan to offer monthly sessions that will be integrated into new staff and volunteer orientation schedules. Since June 2020, Age & Dementia Friendly Cape Ann has hosted eight Dementia Friends sessions via Zoom, offered in collaboration with Gloucester’s Sawyer Library, the four Councils on Aging of Cape Ann, RSVP of the North Shore and SeniorCare.”
