November is National Family Caregiver Month, a time to acknowledge and celebrate caregivers. The theme for 2023 is #CaregiversConnect. This year’s theme highlights the importance of connection for those providing care in any capacity.
There are many ways for caregivers to connect including sharing resources, stories, and the difficulties and rewards that come with caregiving. A quick conversation or offering a moment of respite can have a huge impact on a caregiver’s day.
SeniorCare and Age and Dementia Friendly Cape Ann (ADFCA) understand the importance of caregiver connection and provides opportunities to bolster this connection within our communities through programs and activities. Opportunities for connection include Memory Cafes, Dementia Friendly Walks, information sessions, and resources on dementia and caregiving.
SeniorCare has recently received additionally funding through the Assisting Care Partners to Thrive (ACT) Grant. This grant will be used to offer special programming for caregivers with the goal of reducing stress, building community, and easing some of the burdens that accompany caregiving.
If you are currently helping a friend or family member with some of their needs, you are considered a caregiver. We want to hear from you about what programming and supports would benefit you. Please take this quick survey and share your thoughts. It should take less than 5 minutes. Thank you for your time!
