Positive psychology is “the scientific study of the strengths that enable individuals and communities to thrive” (UPenn, 2021). Specifically, it refers to the practice of focusing on the things that make life meaningful. Much of the work on positive psychology is attributed to Martin Seligman, a Doctor of Psychology for over fifty years. His mission within this area of psychology has been to study the ways in which people derive meaning and enjoyment from their lives.

ADFCA is collaborating with Dr. Beverly Dolinsky and her students at Endicott College to offer a series of informative and interactive sessions on positive psychology. During these hour-long virtual meetings, the students will guide participants through a few exercises designed to promote self-compassion, mindfulness, resilience, and appreciation for others, among other things. They are a great opportunity to take a break during your day and pause and reflect on the simple joys in life. The exercises you learn can be something you return to however often you choose.
Sessions will take place on Wednesdays from 2:00 – 3:00 PM on the following days:
